Where is Batam
Batam is part of the Riau Islands Province in Indonesia. Located south of Singapore, east of Sumatra, and west of Bintan, Batam is in a strategic position on major shipping lanes, located in the Singapore Strait.
Batam has a tropical rainforest climate, meaning that it’s generally hot and humid throughout the year. Temperatures typically range from 22°C (72°F) to 32°C (90°F). Being close to the equator, it doesn’t have distinct seasons like spring or autumn. Instead, it has a wet season (usually from November to April) and a dry season (from May to October), although rain can occur at any time of the year.

Things to do in Batam
On our recent mid-week escape from Singapore, we chose Sekupang as our arrival port in Batam. The 45-minute ferry ride was calm and the immigration process was fast and hassle-free. Upon arrival at the ferry terminal, we made our way through immigration and were met by the friendly Tempat Senang Boutique Hotel & Spa staff for our complimentary shuttle service, which is available to all guests.
Tempat Senang Boutique Hotel & Spa is only a short drive away from the Sekupang ferry terminal, taking around 5-10 minutes by car, depending on traffic conditions.
