Nusa Tenggara Timur
NTT stands for Nusa Tenggara Timur (East Timor) and is the collective name for a group of islands that make up the southernmost province of Indonesia. It consists of more than 500 islands, with the largest ones being Sumba, Flores and the western part of Timor – it is also one of the least developed parts of Indonesia. NTT’s most well-known destinations are Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park – which are popular tourist spots for adventurers seeking out the famous Komodo Dragons which are native to this area.
Nusa Tenggara Timur is the only province in Indonesia where most of the population is Christian, with Roman Catholicism being the predominant religion. Traditional indigenous tribes can still be found on many of the provincial islands such as the Antoni, Belu and Lamaholot tribes, who continue to live in authentic house structures renowned for their unique roof shapes. Prepare to be amazed by the jaw-droppingly stunning natural scenery, exotic marine life and mountainous landscapes as you explore this unspoilt part of the archipelago.
