How to Get There

Reaching Ternate by air is relatively easy, as Ternate has its own airport, Sultan Babullah Airport (IATA: TTE), which handles domestic flights from major cities across Indonesia. Unfortunately, if you’re coming from Bali, there are no direct flights. Instead, you will need to transit via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta (CGK) or Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar (UPG).

Best Time to Visit

A lush green landscape unfolds with a majestic mountain in the background, perfectly setting the scene for your Maluku itinerary. Boats gracefully drift on a small body of water in the foreground, while clouds gently veil the mountain peak.

The ideal time to visit Ternate is during the dry season, which is usually between April and October, when the weather is drier and sunnier. You’ll find that this is perfect for exploring the island’s rich history, enjoying the stunning landscapes, and experiencing the best underwater visibility for diving. The average daily temperature in Ternate ranges from 26°C to 31°C.
