TPJF 2026: Celebrating 11 Years of Jazz and Creative Collaboration

The Papandayan Jazz Fest (TPJF) 2026 is set to return to The Papandayan Bandung on 3–4 October 2026, bringing two days of music, collaboration and creative experiences under the theme “Sound to the Soul”. Ahead of the festival, TP Jazz Management held a press conference at The Club, Djakarta Theater XXI, Jakarta, to introduce this year’s programmes, special collaborations and curatorial direction.

The 11th edition will feature more than 50 music programmes across six festival areas, with around 70% of the programming rooted in jazz. The line-up will explore different sides of the genre, from traditional and contemporary jazz to fusion and cross-genre collaborations.

The press conference was hosted by Nodi Nahadian and attended by key figures behind TPJF 2026, including Tyagita R. Hermawan, Event Director of TP Jazz Management; festival curators Hari Pochang and Venche Manuhutu; and performing artists Rieka Roslan, members of Lalahuta, Kevin Widaya and Boni Eko.

Celebrating Jazz Through Collaboration

TP Jazz Management continues to position jazz as the foundation of the festival while creating more opportunities for musicians, audiences and creative communities to connect. This year’s programme features a mix of established artists, emerging musicians and special collaborative projects.

According to Tyagita R. Hermawan, TPJF 2026 is designed to offer more than live performances. “This year, we are presenting more collaborative projects, more space for artistic exploration, and more experiences for audiences to enjoy. TPJF is not only about who performs on stage, but also about how music can become a meeting point for communities, culture, creativity, and different generations,” she said.

Festival curators Hari Pochang and Venche Manuhutu said the 2026 curation aims to present a broader and more contemporary side of jazz. Featured projects include A Night of Frank Sinatra by Dwiki Dharmawan & Friends, Tribute to Koes Plus by The Gentlemen’s Club, Freedom Jazz Society feat. Rinni, and Barry Likumahuwa feat. TPJC Collective.

The programme also brings together experienced jazz musicians and emerging talents from Indonesia’s music scene, highlighting the festival’s focus on artistic collaboration and regeneration.

Rieka Roslan and Lalahuta to Share the Stage

One of the highlights announced at the press conference was the collaboration between Rieka Roslan and Lalahuta, who will perform together on the BRI Stage on the festival’s opening day.

Known for her energetic performances, Rieka Roslan encouraged audiences to come ready to sing and dance while also sharing what makes TP Jazz meaningful to her as an artist. “Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, because I guarantee it will be hard to stay still. We’ll be dancing, singing, and celebrating together. For me, TP Jazz has always been a wonderful reason to come home to Bandung. So many memories and creative works were born in this city. What makes TP Jazz special is the trust they place in musicians. They never impose strict concepts or tell us exactly what we should perform. Instead, they give us the freedom to create the most honest and authentic performance possible. That kind of creative freedom is incredibly valuable for artists,” said Rieka Roslan.

This creative freedom remains an important part of TP Jazz’s approach, giving musicians the space to develop performances that reflect their own artistic identity.

More Than Music

Beyond its music programme, TPJF 2026 will feature several additional highlights. These include the TPJF Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be presented to legendary Indonesian group BIMBO, as well as the introduction of the Mojang Jajaka Stage in collaboration with the Bandung Office of Culture and Tourism.

The festival will also host Pasar Jazz, a creative marketplace featuring tenants from the culinary, fashion, lifestyle, music and creative industries.

TPJF 2026 will take place across six festival areas: Kota Baru Parahyangan Stage, BRI Stage, RON88 Stage, TP Stage, Mojang Jajaka Stage and Pasar Jazz.

The line-up includes Mahalini, Ruth Sahanaya, Diskoria feat. Andien, Dwiki Dharmawan & Friends, SimakDialog, Andre Dinuth Group feat. Matthew Sayersz, Rafi Sudirman, T-Five x Melly Mono, Batavia Collective, Reyharp feat. Balawan Project, Arumtala and Ambon Jazz Rock by Barry Likumahuwa, alongside dozens of other musicians and community groups.

The press conference concluded with a luncheon attended by media representatives, providing an opportunity for journalists to meet the speakers and connect with TP Jazz Management ahead of the festival. With its “Sound to the Soul” theme, TPJF 2026 continues to bring together music, creativity and community while creating space for collaboration between different generations of musicians and audiences.
