Located in the peaceful surroundings of Bintan, less than two hours from Singapore, The Residence Bintan offers a tranquil island retreat with a range of new experiences for guests to enjoy. Set across 70 hectares overlooking the South China Sea, the resort combines the charm of a traditional Asian village with luxurious pool villas, a spa surrounded by nature, and a variety of wellness and eco-focused activities.
As part of The Residence collection, the resort is known for creating authentic experiences that reflect the local destination while providing personalised service. Through new guest programmes, sustainability initiatives and community partnerships, The Residence Bintan continues to encourage guests to discover the island’s culture and way of life.

Celebrating Local Culture
The resort has introduced new experiences that connect guests with the local community. The Tanjung Pinang Walking Tour offers an opportunity to explore the island capital’s multicultural heritage, architecture and daily life. Meanwhile, the Kijang Morning Market Tour takes guests behind the scenes of a bustling local market, where they can experience traditional food, local coffee culture and the daily seafood trade.
Supporting Sustainability
These new tours complement the resort’s existing sustainability programmes. Guests can join a Guided Marine Walk to learn about coastal ecosystems during low tide or visit the Earth Basket Farm to discover regenerative farming practices and composting methods. Fresh ingredients from the farm can also be used in the resort’s Farm-to-Table Cooking Class.
The Residence Bintan continues to work with local partners to support environmental conservation. Recent efforts include Miyawaki forest restoration training, which led to the planting of 250 native trees in partnership with a local university. Guests will soon be able to participate in tree-planting activities as the restoration area expands.

The resort is also collaborating with Bintan’s forestry department to develop a native tree nursery that will support future reforestation projects across the island.
Inspiring Young Explorers
The resort’s enhanced children’s programme encourages young guests to learn about nature and local culture through creative activities. These include making leaf sun catchers, creating recycled seagrass cards, participating in baking classes using ingredients from the Earth Basket Farm, and learning traditional local games.

Giving Back Through Cenizaro Cares
Through the Cenizaro Cares initiative and its Dollar-a-Day donation programme, The Residence Bintan continues to support environmental and community projects. Current initiatives include helping to revitalise a local maritime museum, supporting mangrove clean-up efforts in Kawal, and establishing a food forest at a primary school in Kijang.
By combining meaningful cultural experiences, environmental stewardship and community engagement, The Residence Bintan continues to offer guests a deeper connection to the island while promoting responsible and purposeful travel.
