The Milklab Bali Café Creation 2025 came to a close on Wednesday, 27 August, with an exciting final held at 70° Fahrenheit Café in Jimbaran.
Running from 20 July to 15 August, the competition invited coffee enthusiasts across Bali to vote for their favourite cafés, either online or during Milklab X Wheel Brews Free Coffee Days at Level 21 Mall and Living World Mall in Denpasar. Thousands of votes were cast, leading to 12 finalists who advanced to the Final Showdown.
Ahead of the final, Milklab partnered with Excelso at Icon Mall, Sanur, to host a Latte Lab with World Barista Champion Anthony Douglas on 26 August. The event highlighted the growing popularity of plant-based milk and introduced six new “Taste of Nusantara” drinks, combining local flavours with café culture.
Then came the big day! On the 27th August, the 12 finalists showcased their best creations in front of the crowd and an expert panel of judges at 70° Fahrenheit Café in Jimbaran.

Willy Sidewalk – The Head Judge for the competition is also the author of Barista #NoCingCong, 2011 Indonesia Barista Competition Surabaya Champion, and a seasoned coffee professional with over 15 years of experience.
Anthony Douglas – World Barista Champion 2022 & MILKLAB Global Brand Ambassador.
Yande J. Wirawan – Head Barista & Coffee Trainer at Expat Roasters, MILKLAB Global Brand Ambassador.
Bili Yoga Wirawan – 2024 Best Restaurant Mixologist of the Year by Les Grandes Tables du Monde.
Karlie Cummins – Founder of Bali Buddies & Indo Buddies.
The winners were:
- First Place: Yoga Diasa (Tlaga Singha) – IDR 10,000,000 cash prize + one-year Milklab supply
- First Runner-Up: Andre (Chandi Restaurant) – IDR 7,500,000 cash prize + six-month Milklab supply
- Second Runner-Up: Ngurah Andi (Dimare Restaurant) – IDR 5,000,000 cash prize + three-month Milklab supply
In addition, five lucky voters each received IDR 1,000,000, with winners announced on @milklabindo Instagram.
Through this competition, Milklab continues to encourage baristas to explore creative plant-based beverages, supporting the rising demand for dairy alternatives in Bali. With its almond, oat, coconut, and other plant-based options, Milklab aims to empower local cafés and strengthen Indonesia’s coffee community.
