Experience Sundanese heritage and natural beauty in the captivating Dago Pakar neighbourhood
Hotel Indigo, a part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle collection, has launched its second property in Indonesia—Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar—situated in the picturesque city of Bandung.
True to the Hotel Indigo brand, each location is uniquely inspired by its surroundings, drawing vibrant energy from local culture. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in authentic experiences and forge meaningful connections with the neighbourhood. At Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, this ethos is brought to life through the unique sights, sounds, and flavours of the region.
Perched 700 meters above sea level, the hotel offers a serene escape amidst the lush greenery and morning mists of Bandung. The design is inspired by the local Sundanese word “Dagoan,” meaning “to wait,” reflecting the warm hospitality that guests can expect as they explore the Dago Pakar neighbourhood. Traditional Sundanese motifs and natural elements are seamlessly integrated into the hotel’s design, inviting guests to discover modern touches that harmonize with local cultural influences, such as cascading waterfalls, classic Bandung batiks, and folklore inspired by the nearby Tangkuban Perahu mountain. The lobby, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, creates an inviting ambience, showcasing picturesque views of the surrounding hillside landscape.

The hotel features 277 elegantly designed rooms and suites, each reflecting the vibrant culture and atmosphere of the neighbourhood. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Dago Pakar area from their rooms, complete with comfortable daybeds for relaxation. Thoughtful design elements, such as local batik motifs and topographic contours, enhance the guest experience, blending local charm with contemporary comfort.

At Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, guests can savour a variety of dining experiences that celebrate local flavours and international cuisine. By seamlessly integrating local traditions and artistic design elements, the hotel offers not just a meal but a journey through Sundanese heritage and the vibrant spirit of the Dago Pakar neighbourhood:
- Joempa: The hotel’s main restaurant, Joempa, brings the essence of the Dago Pakar neighbourhood to life with a menu featuring savoury and spicy dishes from West Java.
- Karbon: Later this year, Karbon, the rooftop restaurant and bar, will offer a unique dining experience with Asian grill and smokehouse concepts, where dishes are prepared over open kitchen embers. The beverage menu features drinks inspired by local heritage, including cocktail twists on Sundanese drinks like bandrek and bajigur, as well as locally sourced coffee, tea, and fresh fruits.
- Dagoan Lounge: The Dagoan Lounge offers an inviting space for enjoying snacks and drinks, capturing the lively spirit of the local community.
Additional amenities include Bandung’s highest rooftop infinity pool, offering panoramic views of Dago Pakar, a Kids Club with traditional Sundanese games and activities, a 24-hour gym, in-room dining, and later in the year, nine stylish meeting rooms along with a spacious Grand Ballroom equipped with state-of-the-art technology—ideal for events ranging from intimate gatherings to large weddings.
“Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar is a tribute to the rich tapestry of Sundanese culture and the natural splendour of Bandung. We are thrilled to open the doors to a retreat where every detail reflects the vibrant spirit and natural beauty of this beloved neighborhood. From our carefully curated design to our locally inspired dining experiences, every detail tells a story of Dago Pakar’s heritage and charm,” said Pascal Caubo, Cluster General Manager of Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar and InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar.
Nestled in Bandung’s northern reaches, Dago Pakar is a botanical hillside haven surrounded by tea plantations, lush forests, and natural waterfalls. This area seamlessly blends Sundanese culture with European influences, earning the nickname ‘Paris of Java.’ Just a 30-minute high-speed train ride from Jakarta, guests can discover scenic attractions moments from the hotel—from a tour of the city’s botanical gardens, Taman Hutan Raya Juanda, to an adventurous hike up Tebing Keraton to enjoy the sunrise from one of the highest points in Bandung. The hotel also enjoys proximity to Djuanda Forest Park, a sprawling conservation area and botanical garden boasting over 2,500 plant species and endangered wildlife. Its central location allows guests to explore the vibrant local community, indulge in Indo-Dutch cuisine such as pisang molen (banana wrapped in baked flour), and experience the lively folk-art scene with creatives, artists, musicians, performers, and writers.

Special opening offers at Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar are now available for bookings. Guests can also benefit from IHG One Rewards, offering enhanced opportunities to earn and redeem points across IHG Hotels & Resorts, including exclusive benefits tailored to their preferences, supported by leading technology on the IHG mobile app.
