High Tea for Change: Happy Hearts Indonesia Launches “Water For All” Campaign to Tackle Water Inequality in Schools

Happy Hearts Indonesia, in collaboration with Plaza Indonesia, held a High Tea event at La Moda, Plaza Indonesia, to officially unveil the impactful results and future vision of its latest initiative, the Water For All campaign. This event marked a significant milestone in the organization’s journey to ensure sustainable access to clean water in schools and underserved communities across Indonesia.

During the event, Happy Hearts Indonesia proudly announced a strategic partnership with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation technology. ABB has joined the Water Access Project to help expand its reach and impact, offering sustainable water solutions such as boreholes, piping systems, and rainwater harvesting.

The High Tea also welcomed Vania Herlambang, campaign supporter and Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2018, who will work closely on the Water Access projects. Vania’s ongoing commitment to environmental advocacy and children’s education underscores the urgency of addressing the water crisis in Indonesia.

In East Nusa Tenggara, clean water shortages continue to affect every aspect of daily life. Schools and homes often suffer from dry taps and inadequate sanitation, forcing children to fetch water and sacrifice their education. Nationwide, 192 million people lack access to clean water, and 71% of schools face challenges related to water, sanitation, and hygiene. One in four children under five suffers from preventable diseases due to unclean water.

Water For All aims to directly address these issues by creating lasting change through sustainable infrastructure and community empowerment. In 2025, Happy Hearts Indonesia targets the provision of 20 water wells in schools across East Nusa Tenggara, scaling up over the next five years.

“Clean water is more than a basic need—it’s the foundation for learning, health, and a brighter future. Through the Water For All campaign, we’re not just building wells, we’re restoring time, dignity, and opportunity for thousands of children and their communities. We are proud to partner with ABB to bring sustainable, life-changing solutions to where they are needed most,” said Sylvia Beiwinkler, CEO of Happy Hearts Indonesia.

“At ABB, we believe in driving meaningful change through technology and partnerships. By joining forces with Happy Hearts Indonesia, we are helping to transform communities through clean water access—empowering children to focus on education and families to thrive. This collaboration is a great example of how innovation and compassion can come together to build a more sustainable future for all,” said Gerard Chan, President Director of ABB Indonesia.

“Water for All is more than a campaign; it is a movement that unites us in a shared responsibility to protect our most precious resource. Plaza Indonesia has helped build 18 schools with Happy Hearts Indonesia, but access to clean water is a fundamental human right, which makes it vital for us to support this movement,” said Zamri Mamat, Deputy Chief Marketing Officer of Plaza Indonesia.

The event was attended by media, partners, and long-time supporters who witnessed the broad impact of the Water Access Project through compelling stories, testimonials, and real-life success stories.

Happy Hearts Indonesia invites individuals, organizations, and corporate partners to join the Water for All movement and help ensure clean water reaches every school and community in need. Together, we can turn these pressing statistics into stories of hope and resilience.
