Henshin has introduced a refreshed Nikkei menu, celebrating the fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavours. The concept reflects the meaning of Henshin (変身) — “transformation” in Japanese — highlighting the evolution of Nikkei cuisine, which blends Peruvian ingredients with Japanese culinary techniques to create bold umami flavours and balanced textures.
Guests can explore the cuisine through 4–8 course tasting menus. The journey begins with Piqueos (small bites), followed by Tartar de Atun — yellowfin tuna tartare with ikura, quail egg, rocoto, and truffle oil. A Signature Nigiri Trio presents premium seafood, while the standout dish is Carpassion Ceviche, featuring salmon, avocado, and passionfruit in Leche de Tigre (Tiger’s Milk). The main course features Australian Black Angus Beef Tenderloin, and dessert options include Carro de Chocolate and Suspiro de Maracuya with passion fruit, meringue, camu-camu, and banana. Wine and sake pairings are available.
The à la carte menu also showcases signature dishes, such as Nikkei Wagyu Beef Tartare, Henshin Rolls with salmon belly and foie gras, and Vieira ceviche made with Hokkaido scallops and octopus. Other highlights include spiny lobster with smoked rocoto butter and Nikkei Ramen with wagyu striploin, bone marrow, egg, and golden curry broth.
Henshin spans the top three floors of The Westin Jakarta, offering Nikkei dining alongside a bar and lounge with panoramic city views. The restaurant has been recognised as one of Asia’s Top 80 Fine Dining venues in 2023 and again in 2024 for both dining and bar experiences.
