Gran Meliá Jakarta welcomed the festive season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, an evening filled with joy, togetherness, and meaningful celebration. Held in the hotel’s elegantly decorated lobby, the event brought together guests, partners, and the hotel community to mark the beginning of the Christmas festivities.
The evening opened with greetings from the Master of Ceremonies, followed by a heartfelt performance from the hotel’s Christmas Choir. The associates performed classic holiday songs, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the season.
This year, Gran Meliá Jakarta embraces a festive theme in classic gold and green, symbolising prosperity, love, and renewal. Inspired by Meliá Hotels International’s global festive concept, the hotel decorated its spaces with shimmering metallic ornaments and natural textures, creating a setting that feels elegant, soulful, and distinctly “Gran.”
General Manager Jeronimo Molina shared his appreciation for guests and the hotel community, expressing the hotel’s hopes for a meaningful festive season. His remarks were followed by the highlight of the evening—the Christmas Tree Lighting. As the countdown ended, the grand tree lit up, greeted by applause from everyone present.
The celebration continued with a touching performance by children from Yayasan Pondok Kasih Mandiri, who performed two songs that added warmth and sincerity to the evening. Gran Meliá Jakarta also introduced a special charity initiative with the foundation. Each child shared their Christmas wish, which was written and placed on teddy bears displayed on the tree. The teddy bears are available for purchase at IDR 100,000 net, with all proceeds supporting the children.
Guests were also invited to admire the hotel’s impressive gingerbread house, made with more than 300 kilograms of ingredients and created by the culinary team. Decorated by children from the foundation, it stands as a symbol of creativity, sweetness, and shared joy.
The evening concluded with more performances from the children and a lively rendition of “Feliz Navidad,” closing the event on a note of warmth and generosity. Gran Meliá Jakarta extends its gratitude to all who attended and encourages everyone to continue spreading the spirit of giving throughout the festive season.
