Reviving Indonesian-Chinese Heritage, One Dish at a Time
Jakarta, Indonesia, November 1, 2024 – GOPEK, a Sarirasa Group restaurant, celebrates the unique and flavorful heritage of Chinese-Indonesian Peranakan cuisine. Launched in 2017, GOPEK broadens Sarirasa’s culinary journey by showcasing an often-overlooked part of Indonesian cuisine, blending rich cultural roots with modern, health-conscious dining.
“With GOPEK, we’re not just serving food; we’re reviving flavours that connect with people’s memories and heritage,” shares Lavinia Siswadi, Head of Marketing at Sarirasa Group. “Each dish tells a story, bridging generations and cultures.”

A Culinary Bridge of Traditions and Ingredients
GOPEK’s menu reintroduces traditional Peranakan dishes like Mie Ayam, Nasi Goreng, and Siomay. These beloved comfort foods honour the influence of both Indonesian and Chinese traditions, enriched with fresh, natural ingredients and authentic methods. Following a No Pork, No Lard philosophy, GOPEK uses only natural sweeteners and colours derived from fruits and vegetables, making it an ideal choice for health-conscious diners.
Signature dishes, such as GOPEK’s handmade noodles, symbolize prosperity and longevity—a nod to Chinese traditions of meaningful ingredients that nourish the body and spirit.

Expanding the Legacy with Gopek House
In 2019, Sarirasa Group introduced Gopek House, offering home-style Peranakan favorites like Bistik Daging and Ayam Goreng Mentega. Gopek House continues the tradition of GOPEK, providing a nostalgic culinary experience with a focus on family recipes cherished across generations.
