Following the success of opening 1,000 outlets, Kenangan Coffee is now bringing its signature coffee experience to Sydney and Melbourne.
Kenangan Coffee, Indonesia’s leading grab-and-go coffee brand, continues its global expansion journey with the opening of its first store in Australia. Sydney welcomed the debut of Kenangan Coffee on April 14, 2025.

This strategic move marks a significant milestone for Kenangan Brands — the parent company of Kenangan Coffee — as it ventures outside of Asia for the very first time. The expansion into Australia underscores Kenangan Coffee’s commitment to introducing the distinct flavors of Southeast Asia to the world stage, while also catering to growing international demand for high-quality coffee at an accessible price point.

This international expansion coincides with a major celebration for the brand: the opening of its 1,000th store in Solo, Central Java. Located in an iconic building with traditional Javanese architecture, this milestone store reflects Kenangan Coffee’s dedication to embracing Indonesian coffee culture in every outlet, both domestically and abroad.
Following its Sydney launch, Kenangan Coffee is set to expand into Melbourne — another exciting chapter in the brand’s journey, which already includes 98 outlets in Malaysia, 7 in Singapore, 2 in the Philippines, and 1 in India.
Australia was chosen as the next destination thanks to its thriving coffee culture, making it an ideal market for Kenangan Coffee’s signature Southeast Asian flavors.

Edward Tirtanata, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Kenangan Brands, shared,
“Reaching 1,000 outlets in Indonesia is a huge milestone for us — but it’s only the beginning of Kenangan Coffee’s dream. We want to take Indonesian coffee even further, and expanding into Australia is a big step in that journey. We believe our coffee will be loved just as much there as it is here at home.”
Kenangan Coffee’s signature drink — the Kenangan Latte made with uniquely Indonesian palm sugar — will remain a highlight on the menu. Alongside this, a curated selection of beverages tailored for the Australian market will ensure the brand appeals to local tastes. Through this launch, Kenangan Coffee hopes to continue introducing the richness of Indonesian coffee to broader audiences and support the global recognition of Indonesia’s coffee industry.
