To celebrate its 20th anniversary, COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali has unveiled a refreshed look and renewed commitment to holistic wellbeing. Set within 22 acres of lush jungle, the award-winning wellness retreat introduces updated accommodation and the reopening of its spiritual core, the Ojas wellness centre, launching in July 2025.
Nestled where the Ayung and Tibakauh rivers meet—a sacred site in Balinese tradition—Ojas is nourished by a centuries-old healing spring known as The Source. Aligned with four key temples, the location holds deep cultural and spiritual significance, offering a natural setting for rejuvenation.
The Estate blends this heritage with modern wellness innovation. Guests can now access new treatments, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and infrared sauna sessions designed to support recovery, detoxification, and better sleep.
Interior design firm Atelier Ikebuchi returns to reimagine Ojas, pairing sleek white marble, black Corian, and natural teak wood to create an atmosphere of calm and understated luxury.
The reopening introduces several upgraded facilities: contrast therapy suites with cold plunge and ice baths, colonic hydrotherapy rooms, and a hydrotherapy pool offering Watsu—a soothing, water-based body therapy. A dedicated space for Ayurvedic treatments has also been added.
Fitness facilities have been enhanced with an indoor gym and an expanded outdoor training area, surrounded by nature for a more immersive experience.
In addition to daily complimentary wellness classes like sunrise yoga and jungle stretch, guests can choose from short Wellness Programmes or longer multi-night Wellness Paths. These tailored experiences focus on areas such as detox, gut health, fitness, mindfulness, or a full-body reset, each starting with a personalised consultation.
The Estate also reveals newly renovated residences, including Wanakasa (‘Forest in the Mist’), a luxury treehouse-style stay perched above the Ayung River, and Bayugita (‘Windsong’), featuring a jungle-view infinity pool and a private meditation garden fed by the sacred Kedara spring.
COMO Shambhala Estate continues to lead in bespoke wellness travel, combining spiritual tradition, natural beauty, and contemporary health expertise.
