In celebration of Mother’s Day, Bel Étage presents Cita Rasa Ibu, a special brunch inspired by the warmth and comfort of a mother’s cooking.
The event features a collaboration with Chef Sisca Soewitomo, one of Indonesia’s most recognised culinary figures. Known for her long television career, she appeared as a celebrity chef on Indosiar’s Aroma for more than 12 years (1996–2008), hosted Ibu Masak on Rajawali TV from 2013 to 2015, and continues to appear in Ramadan cooking programmes aired daily before iftar. Chef Sisca has also dedicated decades to preserving Indonesian culinary traditions, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ubud Food Festival and recognition from Museum Rekor Indonesia for publishing the highest number of Indonesian recipe books.
For this special collaboration, Chef Sisca presents a menu inspired by Indonesian home cooking. Highlights include Nasi Rames with spicy pulled beef and coconut crumble, scallops served in spiced turmeric consommé, Bistik Lidah slow-cooked beef tongue, and her signature Risoles Ibu filled with creamy béchamel and fermented soybean sauce.
“Collaborating with Chef Sisca Soewitomo is deeply meaningful for us. Her approach to Indonesian cuisine carries a sense of comfort, memory, and familiarity that resonates with so many people. It is an honour to work alongside someone who has shaped the way Indonesians experience home cooking,” says Jeremy Degras, Executive Chef of The St. Regis Jakarta.
The Mother’s Day Brunch at Bel Étage invites guests to reconnect through familiar yet elevated flavours. Through this collaboration, the celebration honours Indonesian cuisine as well as the love and dedication of mothers, often best expressed around the dining table.
