FINNS Beach Club has officially launched Bali’s first dedicated search and rescue helicopter with hoist capability, marking a major advancement in the island’s emergency response across both land and sea.
Funded and supported by FINNS Beach Club and operated by SGI (Sayap Garuda Indah), a Bali-based search and rescue organisation, the helicopter significantly enhances rescue readiness, particularly in high-traffic coastal and tourism areas where rapid response is critical.
The initiative has been developed in close collaboration with Indonesia’s national search and rescue agency, BASARNAS, demonstrating strong government support and a shared commitment to strengthening Bali’s emergency response infrastructure. Medical services within the partnership are provided by Nusa Medica, ensuring professional medical assistance during rescue operations.
The helicopter and partnership were officially unveiled at a launch and media event held at FINNS Beach Club’s Elite Rooftop Cabana. The event included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SGI and BASARNAS, confirming formal cooperation and alignment. Guests also witnessed a live simulated ocean rescue, showcasing the helicopter’s hoist capability and operational readiness.
A panel discussion featuring representatives from FINNS, SGI, and BASARNAS highlighted the importance of public and private sector collaboration in improving safety outcomes for both local communities and visitors, as well as the long-term vision for Bali’s search and rescue ecosystem.
To support ongoing operations, FINNS has introduced in-venue fundraising initiatives, including a FINNS x SGI fundraising menu available across the venue, with 100 per cent of proceeds directed to search and rescue operations. The menu features premium bottle service experiences, a signature cocktail, and a shooter created exclusively for the partnership.
Beau Whittington, CEO and Hospitality Leader at FINNS Global in Bali, said that safety remains central to FINNS’ values and that the organisation is proud to support the helicopter alongside SGI and BASARNAS to help protect both residents and visitors.
Through this collaboration, guests at FINNS Beach Club can directly contribute to keeping Bali’s search and rescue helicopter operational, supporting training, readiness, and lifesaving efforts across the island.
