MDA Restaurants has officially announced the opening of Baker Butcher Barista Ubud, marking the brand’s first expansion to Bali. Located in the heart of Ubud’s cultural and culinary district, the new venue combines artisan bakery offerings, a modern steakhouse concept, and speciality coffee in one destination. Designed as an all-day dining space, it serves everything from morning pastries and brunch to hearty butcher-style dishes and evening gatherings.
Inspired by Ubud’s relaxed atmosphere and growing interest in thoughtful dining, Baker Butcher Barista Ubud features signature favourites from its Jakarta flagship, including the Corny Bennie, Crab Toast, B.Mw.-Cang, Soto Tangkar, and Pastrami Sandwich. The menu also introduces several dishes created exclusively for Bali, blending the brand’s signature bold flavours with ingredients and influences inspired by its new surroundings.
Reflecting Ubud’s strong wellness culture, the restaurant has expanded its menu with a selection of vegetarian and plant-forward dishes. Options such as the Watermelon Salad, Spiced Pumpkin Tabbouleh, and Tempeh Club offer lighter choices while maintaining the rich and satisfying flavours the brand is known for.
The menu also showcases global influences through dishes such as Not Your Gado2, a modern interpretation of the Indonesian classic, alongside Fattoush, Lamb Shawarma, and Hay Smoked Tuna Tataki. Burger lovers can enjoy favourites including The Steakhouse BBBurger and the Classic Smashed Burger.
Pastries remain a key part of the offering, with Bali-exclusive creations such as the B.E.K, inspired by Korean breakfast flavours including bulgogi, kimchi, and onsen egg, as well as the Garlic Bomb, a buttery croissant knot with a strong garlic flavour. Signature pastries from Jakarta, including the Tjempedak Croissant, Kenari Croissant, and CocoMochi, are also available in Ubud.
The beverage programme places a stronger focus on matcha, available in both traditional and latte styles, while the brand’s in-house roasted coffee beans continue to anchor the drinks menu. Offerings range from espresso-based drinks and filter coffee to signature creations such as Black Apple, Black Calamansi, Dji Sam Susu, Teh Botol Latte, and Onde Onde.
With a menu that combines familiar favourites and new creations, Baker Butcher Barista Ubud represents a natural extension of the brand, shaped by the character, pace, and community of Bali.
