AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach Marks Earth Day with Coral Trail and Expanded Marine Discovery Centre

In celebration of Earth Day on 22 April, AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach introduces two new additions to its sustainability programme: the Coral Trail experience and an expanded Marine Discovery Centre. Reflecting the 2026 theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” the resort continues its commitment to conservation through education and responsible tourism.

The Coral Trail offers a guided, science-led experience designed to raise awareness of marine biodiversity and coral reef protection. The programme begins at the Marine Discovery Centre with an educational session led by the resort’s marine biologist, Lee Miles, followed by a briefing on coral restoration and responsible snorkelling. Guests then join a guided snorkelling trip to explore the house reef and restoration sites while observing marine life and conservation efforts.

Supporting this experience is the newly expanded Marine Discovery Centre, now featuring a dedicated coral laboratory. Here, guests can examine coral structures through microscopes and gain a deeper understanding of reef ecosystems. The centre serves as an open educational space, connecting scientific research with guest experiences.

The Coral Trail runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, priced at IDR 200,000++ per person, including snorkelling equipment. Guests can also join a complimentary Coral Planting session on the same days from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, suitable for adults and children aged six and above.

Through these initiatives, the resort strengthens its commitment to protecting Komodo’s marine environment while offering meaningful and educational experiences.
