ATFAC by Accor Celebrates 25 Years of Empowering Indonesia’s Children Through Education and Opportunity

Accor’s corporate social responsibility initiative in Indonesia is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Established in 2001 by Accor Indonesia and operated by Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa, ATFAC supports underprivileged children through long-term programmes focused on education, health assistance and life skills development. What began as a vision has grown into a sustained initiative transforming lives in Jakarta and Bali.

The milestone was marked with a gathering at Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta City Centre during the holy month of Ramadan. The event brought together foster children, alumni, Sanggar (learning centre) administrators, mentors, and general managers and human resources leaders from Accor hotels across Greater Jakarta. The occasion reflected on 25 years of shared commitment and collective impact.

Today, ATFAC supports 69 foster children, including 40 children at its House of Learning (Sanggar) in Cipinang, Jakarta, and 29 children at its House of Learning in Bedugul, Bali, from primary school through to university level. Through scholarships, tutoring, nutritional support, counselling and social assistance, the programme provides holistic care that nurtures confidence, resilience and independence.

Over the past 25 years, ATFAC has graduated 96 students, including bachelor’s degree holders in social work, medicine and hospitality. Many alumni have gone on to build careers as hoteliers, nurses, teachers, civil servants, engineers, banking professionals and IT specialists.

“Reaching 25 years of ATFAC is a meaningful milestone for all of us at Accor. Through education and sustained support, we are not only opening doors of opportunity for children, but also helping to shape confident, capable individuals who will contribute positively to their communities. Celebrating this anniversary reminds us that true hospitality extends beyond our hotels, it is about caring for people and creating lasting impact where it matters most.” said Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale and Economy Division, Accor Asia.

As ATFAC enters its next chapter, the programme remains committed to empowering children through education, care and opportunity, ensuring each child has the foundation to dream, grow and thrive independently. For 25 years and beyond, ATFAC continues to demonstrate the power of collective kindness in creating brighter futures.
