For the first time ever, Jakarta played host to The Chiefs by Monocle, a global gathering of industry leaders that’s been grabbing worldwide attention. From April 23–24, 2025, hundreds of industry players, creatives, and innovators from around the globe came together at 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird to swap ideas, spark discussions, and explore new collaborations.
ASRI, a leading urban developer in Indonesia, proudly hosted this prestigious event, reinforcing their mission to bring Jakarta into the heart of global conversations about the future of business, media, architecture, design, and hospitality.

Throughout the two-day conference, guests enjoyed a wide range of exciting talks, including:
- Why Jakarta? with Cynthia Wirjono (The Goods Dept, Brightspot Market, Oaken Labs) and Michael Djuita (20WOL)
- Beauty and the Brand with Vorravit Siripark (Panpuri, Thailand)
- Building Better Cities with Daliana Suryawinata (SHAU) and Wannaporn Phornprapha (P Landscape, Thailand)
- Taking Off – and Landing Success by Alexander Halim Kusuma (CEO, ASRI)
- Making It in Indonesia with An Chieh Chiang (Lojel, Hong Kong) and Philippe Delaisse (Ethnicraft, Belgium)
- Retail’s Next Chapter with Jaime Daez (Fully Booked, Philippines)
- How to Start a Confectionery Brand with Vincent Mourou (Maison Marou, Vietnam)
- Japan’s Sustainability Pioneers with Gen Fukushima (Sanu) and Ken Isono (Shizen Energy)
But The Chiefs 2025 wasn’t just about what happened on stage. It also created a lively space for people to connect, share ideas, and dream up international collaborations.
The venue, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird, was the perfect setting — a vibrant mix of local culture and global urban vibes, perfectly matching the creative, energetic spirit of the event.
The conference wasn’t all business either. It kicked off with a Welcome Reception at Artesian at The Langham Jakarta, a stunning rooftop bar with breathtaking views of the city. It was a relaxed evening where everyone could mingle and make new connections.

At lunchtime, participants gathered at COPA in the 25hours Hotel, enjoying delicious Latin American dishes while exchanging stories and ideas in a fun, casual atmosphere.
And to top it off, the conference wrapped up with a special dinner at Tom’s by Tom Aikens at The Langham Jakarta, featuring a guest appearance by Chef Tom Aikens himself, making the night even more unforgettable.
“We’re incredibly proud to host The Chiefs 2025 in Jakarta. This isn’t just a gathering of global leaders — it’s a platform to build a better future.
