Art Jakarta has officially announced the return of Art Jakarta Gardens 2026 during a media gathering held on Thursday, 23 April 2026 at ARTOTEL Thamrin, Jakarta. The fifth edition of this outdoor art fair will take place from 5 to 10 May 2026 at Hutan Kota by Plataran, featuring 26 galleries from Indonesia and across Asia.

Since its successful debut during the 2022 pandemic, Art Jakarta Gardens has become a key part of the annual Art Jakarta programme. This open-air art fair offers a unique way to experience art by combining indoor and outdoor presentations. Galleries will showcase works inside two main tents, while sculptures will be displayed throughout the garden in the Sculpture Garden segment. The event will also present a lively public programme, including music performances, performance art, and discussions, enriching the artistic experience while supporting the sustainability of local creative communities.

Artistic Director Enin Supriyanto stated that, in its fifth edition, Art Jakarta Gardens continues to serve as a distinctive platform that combines art exhibitions in an open garden setting with music and live performances. Alongside other initiatives such as Art Jakarta Papers, the programme aims to strengthen Indonesia’s diverse art market and introduce it to a wider audience.

The Sculpture Garden remains a highlight, featuring more than 30 sculptures set within the green landscape of Hutan Kota by Plataran. Most works are by Indonesian artists, including Sunaryo, Nyoman Nuarta, Tisna Sanjaya, Arkiv Vilmansa, and Naufal Abshar. As the only programme in the Art Jakarta series dedicated to outdoor sculpture, it offers a unique and highly anticipated experience.

This year’s event is supported by lead partners Bibit and BCA, both presenting special programmes for visitors. Bibit collaborates with Yogyakarta-based artist Mulyana to present “Tentacles of Wealth”, an installation reflecting on investment through the symbolic form of an octopus. Meanwhile, BCA offers exclusive benefits for visitors, including ticket discounts, cashback offers, and flexible payment options.

Additional support comes from partners such as iForte Energi, which presents “Solagua”, a solar-powered installation combining sunlight and water elements, and TACO, which contributes sustainable material solutions and hosts a recycling workshop for visitors. LUAR also enhances the outdoor experience with durable and playful furniture designed for comfort in changing weather conditions.

The public programme will feature a diverse line-up of Indonesian musicians curated by Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation and Plainsong Live, alongside performance art presentations exploring themes of identity, movement, and culture. Talks and guided tours will also be available, encouraging dialogue between artists, creatives, and the public.
