On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Archipelago International brought together 550 runners at the Rasuna Epicentrum in Jakarta for the inaugural Archarity Run 2024, an event that blended fitness, fun, and a heartfelt mission to support children battling cancer.
This 5K run, the first-ever hosted by Archipelago, welcomed participants from 53 hotels across Indonesia. With a vibrant energy and a sense of camaraderie, runners enjoyed race packs, medals, refreshments, and the joy of giving back.
Running for a Purpose Proceeds from the event were donated to Rumah Singgah Yayasan Lilin Pelita Kasih, a West Jakarta-based organization supporting children and women fighting cancer.
Archipelago’s CEO, John Flood, summed up the spirit of the event “The Archarity Run is more than a race; it’s a celebration of community and the impact we can create when we come together for a meaningful cause. It’s humbling to know that our efforts today will directly support Rumah Singgah Yayasan Lilin Pelita Kasih.”
The top three finishers brought an extra layer of excitement to the event:
- 🥇 1st Place: Dedek Sukmara (favehotel Cimanuk Garut)
- 🥈 2nd Place: Zaky Ramadhan (Aston Cirebon Hotel & Convention Center)
- 🥉 3rd Place: Muhammad Iqbal Ramadhan (favehotel Padjajaran Bogor)
Dedek Sukmara shared his enthusiasm “Running alongside friends from other hotels and supporting this cause was incredible. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!”
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of sponsors like Squeeze, Sunpride, and Mayapada Hospital, among others, who contributed to creating a memorable day for everyone involved.
Archipelago plans to build on this successful debut with more events in the future, encouraging healthy lifestyles and fostering social solidarity.
